HOW IMPORTANT IS IT TO TRAIN MY DOG?
In this first page, we'll start out with a quick explanation of why it is important to train your dog. You may want a fuzzy lap dog, but that dog still needs to be trained! This page will explain why.
63.4 MILLION DOGS ARE OWNED IN THE UNITED
STATES
(APPA, 2019)
Of these, many dogs end up being rehomed by their owners. Pet problems are the most common reason for rehoming a pet (accounting for 47% of rehomed dogs). (ASPCA, n.d; Weiss, Gramann, Spain & Slater, 2015)

Of the fixable pet problems include problematic behaviors and aggressive behaviors. Both of which can be helped by training in at least some cases (ASPCA, n.d; Weiss, Gramann, Spain & Slater, 2015).
